Service Description

Great pottery isn’t just about the form. It’s about the details. In this five week course, you’ll learn and refine the foundations of wheel throwing while exploring different ways to add texture, movement, and contrast to your work. We’ll experiment with textured ribs, carving, and a dual clay project to create pieces that feel just as beautiful to hold as they are to look at. Whether you’re brand new to pottery or looking to try something new, this course is designed to help you slow down, get creative, and build confidence on the wheel. You’ll leave with a collection of functional pieces and techniques you can continue using long after class ends. Here is what you can expect: Carving, Rib Tools and Dual Tone Clay Up to 6 pieces Week 1: Throwing bowls or cups Week 2: Incorporating Rib Tools + Dual Tone Clay Week 3: Trimming + Water Etching Week 4: Trimming + Carving + Sgraffito Week 5: Glazing One make-session is available per person at a $35 fee during Open Studio. All sales are final and non-refundable.
